Tinos is the third largest island of Cyclades, coming after Andros and Naxos. It belongs to northern Cyclades and is located southeast of Andros and north of Mykonos. The distance from Andros is just (at the point called “Steno”) 1/2 miles, while the nearest coast of Mykonos is about 11 miles. Southwest of the island at a distance of 9 miles is the capital of the county, Syros.
Tsiknias in the east, is the tallest mountain of the island with 726 meters of height. The central part is dominated by the steep rock of Exombourgo with 641 m of height with an ancient Venetian town. As for the upland of the "plain of war", it seems to hide many secrets that await someone to reveal them.
The total length of the coastline is estimated at 114 km. and the circumnavigation of the coast, at a short distance from the coast, requires sailing of about 37 nautical miles.
